Well hi there! My name is Nina, welcome to my little corner of the internet! If you’re here that means you’re interested in cooking too. I’ve been in the kitchen for as long as I can remember, I loved helping my mom cook when I was growing up, mostly stirring pots and chopping veggies. But baking is my true calling. I really found my passion for baking though in my teen years and it grew from there. Now that I’m “all grown up” and out on my own in the world I’ve rediscovered my love of cooking. I mostly cook for myself and my wonderful boyfriend Dakota but every now and again I cook for my loved ones and the reviews are pretty good if I do say so myself! When you’re (almost) 30 you need to have a decent list of go-to dinners you can whip up in a pinch and that’s what I’m in the process of doing!
For me, cooking is a love language. I love cooking/baking for people to show them I care. I make dozens upon dozens of goodies at Thanksgiving and Christmas and I never show up to a party empty handed. Honestly I’m almost always in the kitchen whether I’m making something or looking for a snack. I also watch too many cooking shows for my own good, Jasper watches them too when we’re not home. When I’m not in the kitchen you can usually find me reading a good book (a thriller usually), doing some kind of craft, or rewatching Bones for the thousandth time. I am a homebody but I love getting out and exploring Cincinnati and trying new places to eat from time to time.
I started this blog to show people that anyone can cook and yes you have heard that before in Ratatouille but what can I say, I’m a Disney nerd too! I want people to feel comfortable in the kitchen and not be intimidated by new ideas. We have so much to learn together but don’t you worry, we have fun when we’re cooking and that is a guarantee. Around here we like to sing along to Miss Taylor Swift while we’re in the kitchen with a puppy, our sweet boy Jasper, under my feet of course. We’re not afraid to make mistakes and we’re not giving up when something doesn’t come out according to plan. I hope you stick around and try out a recipe or two in the process!
